- Glazing and Ceilings of Manufacturing Areas
- Transparent Components of Explosives Manufacturing Equipment
In the explosives manufacturing environment, one minute electrostatic discharge (ESD) can cause loss of life and severe property damage, necessitating the use of materials capable of dissipating static charges. Where transparent materials are required, as with window glazing and transparent components of explosives manufacturing equipment, glass and conventional transparent plastics are not recommended because they are insulative in nature and unable to prevent the build-up of static charges.
Eslon DC Plate, however, is comprised of plastic sheet with a static dissipative coating that offers surface resistivity of 106 to 107 ohms/sq range, which is optimal for the rapid decay of static charges without the creation of harmful arcing to the surface of vulnerable components. It is therefore effective at controlling the build-up and arcing of static charges that ignite highly combustible materials.
Applications for Eslon DC Plate include:
- Machinery guards
- Viewing windows and doors
- Separator panels
- Templates
- Equipment enclosures
