In semiconductor manufacturing cleanrooms, the build-up of static charges on walls, ceilings and equipment surfaces can attract particulates and/or cause uncontrolled electrostatic discharges (ESD), with devastating effects to microcircuits and significant losses of revenue.
It is therefore advisable to construct cleanrooms and semiconductor manufacturing equipment using materials that are capable of dissipating static charges, but most transparent sheet materials such as glass and conventional clear plastics are insulative by nature.
Eslon DC Plate overcomes this limitation. It is comprised of plastic sheet with a static dissipative coating that offers surface resistivity of 106 to 107 ohms/sq range, which is optimal for the rapid decay of static charges without the creation of harmful arcing to the surface of vulnerable components.
